Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Manager Graphic Design is responsible for translating THD’s value proposition and brand tenants to customer facing communication devices. Responsible for coordinating with merchants, visual merchandising, operations, promotional and marketing teams for front- end work. Helps Merchants articulate a forward-thinking communication method for new projects inclusive of pricing, shopping strategy, content hierarchy etc. Works cross-functionally to create environments that respond to the strategy with integrated graphic communication materials. Facilitates the creation of 3D concepts and ideas to expedite the collaboration and vetting process.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
40%-Acts as a subject matter expert to drive all components of a graphic strategy including: applicable standards, product positioning, product packaging, visual communications as well as graphics, fixtures, macro / micro space allocation.

30%-Directs and manages Agency partners using processes and standards, to provide well-thought through project vision, scope and direction.

10%-Drives / influences cross-functional partners (e.g. merchants, fixture designers; Visual merchants, planograms, agency support, vendors) to ensure speed and interconnected communication (e.g. Marketing, .com, mobile).

10%-Leverages customer insights, industry trends and retail best practices to drive creative and innovation solutions for business opportunities.

10%-Attend line reviews, kick-off meetings, customer insights group and category department meetings as needed to understand the product-specific needs of the business.

Position reports to Director level within In-Store Environment
This position has no direct reports

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 6 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Additional Qualifications:
Experience with a national multi-unit retailer or strong agency experience, supporting a national multi-unit retailer with an emphasis on graphics, visual merchandising, visual communications, marketing, planograms, space planning and store implementation of programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong free-hand drafting & computer skills, particularly Indesign software and Excel
Demonstrated knowledge of graphics, visual merchandising and/or Store Planning experience.
Proven research experience to explore best practices in store design execution, with experience discerning which competitive ideas are most effective

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:- Knowledge of store planning and design software is a must to design and map out thoughts through visual presentations.
- Knowledge or experience with creative design.
- Ability to effectively work cross-functionally and successfully manage multiple projects.
