Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Manager, Health and Safety to oversee the safety program across all segment primarily within TX, AR and NM region. This is a virtual  role based in Texas and will require up to 50-60% travel to accounts. Car is provided when in compliance with company car policy.


About this position:

As the Health and Safety Manager you will conduct studies and investigations to ensure compliance with government safety and health laws, standards and regulations and industrial hygiene. Investigates accidents and promotes safety-conscious work performance and training programs. Provides safety performance measures. Determine root cause analysis. Ensures corporate and regulatory compliance for the company quality assurance and food safety initiatives by pro-actively providing technical expertise, training and support across Divisions at the regional level. This position is also responsible for managing the crisis resolution process in a timely manner.

- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety with 5 years of relevant work experience
- Subject matter expertise and domain knowledge in OSHA regulations, behavioral based safety, facility management and program/project management
- Safety-related designation or certification such as CIH or CSP is a plus


Location and Travel

Virtual candidates should reside near a major airport within the state of Texas.  This position will require up to 60% travel.

Position Summary

This position manages the safety programs (physical & food) for an assigned geographic territory. Provides input from technical expertise for the continuous improvement of company safety policies, standards and requirements. Must be able to help management identify safe/unsafe conditions as well as safe/unsafe food handling practices. Investigates incidents (i.e. injuries, foodborne illness, etc.) and provides expertise on causative factors or correlated factors, and insight on appropriate corrective actions. Communicates safety information to all levels of management within assigned geographic territory. Knowledgeable in and applies company policy, federal, state, and local codes and standards involving the safety of employees, the public and the foods served.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 

Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years
