Cox Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a Manager, HR Communications who will develop and execute communications strategies, messaging and content that reach 60,000 employees. The manager will serve as a communications consultant to HR and will effectively utilize our traditional and digital communication channels to build employee awareness and engagement for benefits initiatives and programs.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Works with director, Corporate Communications and Project Manager to deliver strategic HR communication strategies and plans that drive business results and support key strategic initiatives to CEI and enterprise employees.
  • Creates integrated and comprehensive communication plans and messaging that most effectively utilize existing internal channels, as well as identify new and creative ways to reach employees across the enterprise.
  • Develops, reviews and edits various HR content and materials, including digital content, emails, FAQs, talking points, PowerPoint templates, etc.
  • Partners with Creative Services team to develop and execute creative campaigns that build employee awareness and engagement for HR programs and initiatives.
  • Works closely with subsidiary communications teams to ensure messaging, content and creative is most effectively communicated within their respective businesses.
  • Partners with Corporate Communications content team to create and update HR information on CEI and enterprise intranets and collaboration communities.


  • 10 years of successful HR communications experience, particularly in benefits. Strong background that demonstrates creative approach to communication strategies for various HR programs and initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as journalism, communications, marketing or change management.
  • Exceptional ability to consult with business partners, provide strategic communications counsel and cultivate intra- and cross-department relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proven experience creating and tailoring communication strategies and messaging for a variety of audiences and channels.
  • Superior written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking abilities; strong attention to detail; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and be flexible with change.    
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Knowledge of AP Style.
  • Employee management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing vendors, agencies, etc.
  • Familiarity with a content management system (CMS) a plus.
  • Experience at a Cox Company is preferred.
  • Strong PC skills and expertise using Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
