The HR Business Partner plays an important role in enabling better business outcomes within the Full Service Operations group of Prudential Retirement through creative human resources solutions.  The primary function of this role is to help middle and upper level leaders address the people implications of their business strategies, as well as to support the day-to-day human resources activities identified by the Sr. Human Resources Business Partner to whom this position reports.


Additional responsibilities:


  • Administer, maintain, and improve existing Human Resources policies and programs.  The Human Resources Manager will also support the development and implementation of new strategies, policies, and programs, as appropriate.  This individual will work proactively and collaboratively with assigned clients to help meet their business needs.

·     In coordination with Retirement’s Talent, Diversity, and Organizational Effectiveness areas, ensure the organization’s capability, culture, and talent management systems drive business success.

·     Work with leadership and Corporate functions to manage and successfully resolve employee relations issues as they arise.

·     Support enterprise-wide initiatives such as performance management, leadership development, compensation, Employee Engagement Survey, and HR policy application – all of which must be done in context of enabling business success.

·         Seek to collaborate across the Prudential Retirement HR organization and broader Prudential Human Resources teams.

·         Partner with Staffing to ensure a quality, diverse candidate slate is available for all open positions.

·         Support and / or lead HR-related initiatives, as needed.


The successful candidate is a strong individual contributor with experience in administering and consulting on human resources policy and legal issues.  Equally as important, this individual must understand the dynamics of the business and apply this thinking to all decisions and plans.  In addition, top candidates will have the proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment across several locations.


  •   Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, including HR Generalist work, with demonstrated strengths in the competencies of partnering, driving for results, and organizational awareness.
  • Proven ability and willingness to balance the strategic and process related aspects of the job. 
  • Familiarity with HR disciplines such as organizational effectiveness, diversity, talent management, and staffing.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Solid financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated and action-oriented individual.
  • High degree of collaboration skills; team oriented.
  • Some travel required (approximately 15%)
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Human Resources or related field.
