Description The Manager Maintenance & Infrastructure Operations leads and provides technical competency oversight and/or control responsibility for various multidisciplinary activities supporting complex building operations in research and development and commercial facilities and the management of a wide range of technically complex capital and expense projects as a part of GO (Global Operations). This role will manage the outcomes of work performed by a supplier responsible for facility maintenance and operations as well as providing oversight and direction for all phases of capital and expense projects from concept through turnover to enable business strategies. A close working relationship with internal colleagues and contracted resources will be required with this role.

Key accountabilities of this position included financial performance, site operations, facilities infrastructure reliability, energy management and utilities consumption oversight, continuous improvement, compliance and customer satisfaction for respective scopes of responsibility. Works closely with and/or provides advice and counsel to internal and/or vendor representatives for facility renovations or modifications and plans, coordinates and recommends long-range plans to meet future facility needs and requirements.

The role will be located in Lake Forest, IL in support of Pfizer Essential Health's PharmSci and Biosimilars Commercial and R&D Operations and facilities.

+ Develops strategies and manages complex capital and maintenance projects across business operating unit level.

+ Sets objectives for and manages multiple ongoing work activities/projects of moderate to high complexity at the business operating unit level.

+ Provides technical and functional leadership to teams while leveraging expertise across own and related disciplines.

+ Has advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories in the discipline, and comprehensive knowledge of principles and concepts in other disciplines.

+ Applies technical and line knowledge to plan/design projects that will enable success at the business operational unit level

+ Interprets internal/external business challenges and best practices to recommend improvements to products, processes or services

+ Demonstrates industry knowledge.

+ Exhibits business expertise and an understanding of customer requirements.

+ Actively shares knowledge with others across multiple business functions and encourages others to do the same.

+ Identifies and develops innovative process improvements across own and related disciplines and takes appropriate risks to achieve desired outcomes.

+ Leads operational team(s) within and across business groups.

**Education and Experience**

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering

+ 8 years of relevant experience

+ Ability to supervise and provide direction for project engineering and facilities maintenance resources

+ Experience managing outsourced service providers

+ Experience with GxP compliance

+ Knowledge of FDA, OSHA and EPA regulations applicable to the pharmaceutical industry

+ Possess an understanding of project management methods, procedures and controls

+ Experience and expertise with the design, installation, maintenance and operation of office and laboratory spaces and research and development facilities and their respective process and facility support systems and infrastructure

+ Experience with energy management and site utilities

**Technical Skills Requirements**

+ Ability to prepare and present business related documentation to management, colleagues, consultants and non-company officials

+ Possess broad analytical and problem solving skills

+ Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the ability to work with business line customers/colleagues to establish and collect meaningful metrics

+ Ability to generate and provide data for the forecasting of both capital and operating expense budgets

+ Skilled proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel and Word

+ Proficiency in SAP and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) systems preferred

**Soft Skills Requirements**

+ Ability to quickly adjust to a changing business climate without losing focus on near and long term strategies

+ Ability to exercise leadership/diplomacy in a team oriented environment

+ Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills
