Rest of APJC Controller, Global Accounting and Reporting

What You'll Do

Cisco Global Accounting and Reporting (GAR) is committed to being a valued Finance business partner focusing on controllership oversight, delivery of accounting services and compliance assurance. As the Controller of Rest of APJC region, this position covers the ownership and accountability for the Record to Report (R2R) figures reported both for local GAAP and US GAAP, and also provides oversight and directs operations of the R2R team of accountants based in Bangalore. A successful Controller is not only expected to keep the Company compliant with all local finance and accounting statute, but also can create and retain excellent working relationships with the other Finance functions such as Tax, Treasury, Sales and Service Finance and where appropriate to the Business leaders. This position will report into the APJC GAR Director based in Beijing.

Who You'll Work With
? Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals based in Bangalore for multiple legal entities in Rest of APJC region, including Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, and other countries in ASEAN.
? Support the GAR Leadership on various Global/Regional projects and initiatives
? Ensure that effective R2R delivery is performed for Rest of APJC region, including an overall management of month end close and reporting requirements in line with Cisco policies & review of the monthly P&L and Balance sheet of all Rest of APJC region entities under GAR. This includes responsibility for overall governance & close certifications sign-off.
? Accountable for the Stat /Tax compliance related deliverable (external statutory audits, tax audits, internal GRC audits, SOX)
? Responsible for ensuring Cisco policies are updated in response to changing environment and legislation
? Collaborate with Global Operations team to drive operational excellence, optimization & standardization of R2R close processes
? Act as a trusted adviser to the business on accounting treatments & reporting
? Partner with Sales & Service finance leader, and develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams as the role requires partnering with internal/external stakeholders, both strategically and at the operational level
? Drive best work practices, ensure corporate policies & internal controls are in place, and local compliance requirements are met in a timely manner.

Who You Are

? Qualified CPA/CA with a minimum of 12 - 15 years' relevant working experience ideally gained in an international oriented environment
? 5 Years of management experience in Finance & Accounting
? Strong accounting background and a strong working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS accounting treatments
? Strong knowledge of audit, tax, treasury, business processes, and controls
? Highly motivated self-starter with strong leadership skills combined with an international mind-set
? Challenge the status-quo & drive for results in a fast paced and dynamic environment
? Excellent communication and verbal skills
? Strong problem-solving, business partnering & interpersonal skills
