Global Virtual Engineering is Cisco’s cloud-based virtual Systems Engineering organization responsible to offer next-generation pre-sales technical services and solutions to our customers, partners and field account teams worldwide.

The Team

The Strategy, Planning and Operations team is responsible to provide GVE senior leadership team guidance and assistance while at the same time helping define and execute its strategy. Additional responsibilities from the team include knowledge strategy, change leadership, project management as well as operational excellence.

You will be designing, implementing and evaluating industry-leading methodologies to enable GVE build, enhance, and optimize its modus operandi, processes, procedures, etc.

Role & Responsibilities

Responsible to drive operations efficiency and excellence, lead a team of business operations managers and help the Strategy and Planning lead continue to drive our strategy.

Provide support in ensuring line of sight from project to road-maps to strategic tenets

Manage the organization's operational cadence in the maintenance of business scorecards

Engage on business issues to assist in issues assessment, resolution and root cause analysis

Keep a pulse on the business results and levers to proactively assess and frame results

Assist during business analysis in support of GVE Strategic Initiatives 

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years of experience as a Business Operations Manager, Systems Engineering Manager, Strategy and Planning manager, or in a people leadership or sales support related field or function.

Expertise in Project and Change Management as well as familiarity with Cisco products, solutions, and offerings is a must.

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Business, Engineering or related discipline. MBA / Graduate degree in a related field is a plus.

Strong attention to details and organizational skills.

Must excel in all areas of strategy development, including project management, business analysis, problem solving, executive communication, consensus building, and people development.

Knowledge of Cisco functions, processes and capabilities as well as architectures and technologies.

Desired Skills

This is a critical role providing operations excellence and leadership in managing the operations of a 700+ people organization. This role requires functional collaboration with key GVE leaders to ensure effective execution of business outcomes.

·     Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to manage people, collaborate and influence overall team and leaders.

·     Strong business planning and business operations skills (dashboards/KPIs, managing business rhythms, systems thinking, etc.)

·     Industry recognized certifications in Six Sigma, Continuous Improvements, and/or ITIL is a plus.
