What You'll Do The Technology and Quality organization is responsible for delivering customer-driven quality and reliability solutions for Cisco products. It is committed to driving a competitive advantage for Cisco by ensuring innovation and excellence in manufacturing technology, test and component engineering, NPI, and closed-loop quality management. As a supply chain function, the Technology & Quality organization's vision is to provide Best-in-Class Component Quality, Reliability and Technology for Cisco's customers.    As a key leader of the Optics Technology & Quality team, the candidate will manage a team of Engineers responsible for assessing, developing and qualifying new suppliers and technologies for next generation transceiver products.   You will... •	Manage a team of highly technical Optics Component Engineers & Technology leaders who are responsible for assessing, developing and qualifying new suppliers and technologies for next generation optical transceiver products  •	Lead efforts to assess technology maturity and supplier capabilities to provide technical recommendations to Business unit/GSM •	Partner with GSM to develop commodity strategy, influence supplier selection, and drive effective supplier design and process audits •	Partner with Engineering, PLM & other SCO functional leaders to develop and drive strategic initiatives in the OEM Optics space •	As technical escalation point of contact- will be required to assess business impacting/critical issue and lead component failure analysis, containment and corrective actions •	As the accountable leader, oversee all aspects of team’s activities related to qualifying/releasing new products and ensuring customer quality and product reliability  Who You'll Work With Your team will partner with global supply management teams to develop commodity strategy, supplier selection, and conduct supplier design and manufacturing process audits.   Who You Are Minimum Qualifications MS/PhD in an Engineering/technical discipline (Optical Engineering is highly preferred) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Optics Communications of which at least 3 years are in a managerial capacity  Desired Skills   - Experienced in optical Transceiver design, Reliability Qualification and manufacturing processes  - Demonstrated ability working in cross-functional teams and with external suppliers/partners.  - Excellent communication, people management and influencing skills - Ability to engage at an executive level with internal and external stakeholders.
