This position provides all support functions for the bi-weekly payroll process, time accrual and accounts payable systems for acute facilities and IPM practice locations.This includes the Lawson HRIS, Absence Management and Kronos Timekeeping systems and McKesson AP.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provides support for bi-weekly payroll process for acute facilities.
  • Assists payroll coordinators with Lawson and Kronos questions and/or issues to ensure employees are paid on time and paid correctly.
  • Assists in other payroll related systems issues such as Lawson LP, Absence Management, ADP (taxes and garnishments), EZ-Pay, RAS, BSI tax, Quick Change, VisionWare and McKesson.
  • Provide AP support to field. Leads the conversion of the legacy systems for newly acquired hospitals; setup of new processing levels; new Kronos company builds, and implements system upgrades.
  • Reconciles and ensures accuracy of payroll interfaces into general ledger system; setup of new account-units in Lawson and maintenance to Lawson/McKesson crosswalk.
  • Provides primary support to the field for McKesson accounts payable system and builds new McKesson corps.
  • Educates new users of Lawson and Kronos. Requires on-site training for new acquisitions; possible on-site training for upgrade/implementations; and continual on-going training for users via phone, e-mails and webinars.
  • Manages quarterly reconciliation of federal and state filings. This includes year-end wage reconciliations and adjustments in preparation of W-2 reporting.
Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in accounting or related field with 5 - 8 years' experience minimum. 

  • Exposure to health care pay practices is required with experience working in general accounting and payroll departments.
  • Must have knowledge in payroll tax and wage/labor laws.  Individual needs to multi-task for a multi-entity UHS structure, acute care and physician practices.
  • Must be detail and goal oriented and have follow-through skills. 
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Professionalism in dealing with all customers and ability to work with other UHS staff and/or resources is required. 
  • Must be able to work in an office environment at the corporate office and be able to travel to new acquisitions for training and ‘go-lives’. 
  • Strong analytical skills are required with a keen ability to troubleshoot issues. 
  • Occasional support outside of normal scheduled hours may be required (i.e. during payroll processing week), and at times work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
