Description:

This position is responsible for overseeing the governance, resource demand, and business planning processes, as well as reporting for the portfolio of cross-functional, strategic business and IT projects for Prudential’s Retirement division. This role requires close collaboration with the Portfolio Managers, Finance and Retirement Technology partners.  The role is responsible for creating and/or identifying, maintaining, and producing workflows, data analysis, and maintaining other associated processes/tools that support the greater organization with significant portfolio management capabilities.  In addition, this person is responsible for the creation and production of relevant reports for the business, portfolio managers, resource managers and senior management.  This person will also assist with oversight of technical support and training with our PPM tools

 

Functional Responsibilities of this role may include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the Retirement new initiative intake process, portfolio prioritization and portfolio impact analysis across multiple dimensions (e.g. business/technology SME resources, portfolio budget, strategic investment targets, etc.)

  • Own the Retirement portfolio change control log, Spend Plan, Scorecard, and associated reports from these including the development and production of roadmaps for the application lifecycle of projects and the consolidation of overlapping projects where applicable

  • Manage and administer the Retirement PMO PPM tool, interfacing with database administration, managing value lists, running control reports to maintain the integrity and health of the reporting tool, and assisting in design and execution of future PPM enhancements

  • Contribute to the Retirement PMO Prioritization Processes via Initiative Spend and Resource Plan creation and distribution, creation and distribution of meeting agendas, issues tracking, and creation of initial project records in the PMO Reporting Tool

  • Support Retirement Portfolio Council preparation with portfolio managers and Finance business partners, performing quality assurance of materials and ensuring documentation completeness.

  • Own Portfolio, Program and Project health metrics reports, creating and running reports, performing data analyses and communicating findings as an input into continuous improvement processes.

  • Lead the monthly process to create the SLT portfolio scorecard and perform associated reviews.

  • Own the process for the annual Retirement business planning process

  • Support the communication and/or training of new/revised planning and portfolio management governance process information across Retirement

  • Coordinate day-to-day tasks with the portfolio team

  • Coordinate the creation of training materials, handouts, presentations, and other support items as needed

  • Manage the review and support the maintenance of Planning & Portfolio Management team’s SharePoint sites

  • Manage and enhance templates and tools (e.g. Program Business Case Template) that support the Retirement portfolio governance process

  • Manage and oversee the work delivered through an internal Pramerica portfolio analyst and PPM tool support service model


The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, Accounting or similar discipline, and possess the following skills:

  • 5 years of related work experience.

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with successful development and implementation of resource capacity and management tools and processes.

  • Organizational and time management skills, with ability to work under pressure and to adhere to deadlines.

  • Experience with reporting, data visualization and data mining technologies, (e.g. SQL, Jaspersoft, Microsoft Power BI)

  • Experience managing SharePoint sites

  • Strong financial acumen and experience

  • Technical, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong quality control discipline, with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and thoughts.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, to include the ability to apply and interpret statistical data

  • Ability to synthesize and communicate data into thoughtful and concise reports, developing accurate updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
