Position Title: Manager, Planning and Analysis - Group Insurance Expense

Job Location: New Jersey-Roseland
A Manager position is currently available in the Group Insurance Planning and Analysis Expense unit of the Group Insurance Finance Division.  The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of expense planning, forecasting, reporting and strategic support of several functions in the Group Insurance business as well as a special focus on analyzing all strategic initiatives.  The successful candidate will be actively involved in developing and reporting key operational metrics pertinent to the Group Insurance business.  Additionally, the Expense area plays a key role in the oversight, reporting and analysis of key business initiatives and monitoring of Cost Benefit Analysis.  Responsibilities include:
  • Collaboration and strategic support of annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
  • Coordinate and prepare data analytics for the Budget Operating Council
  • Understand key business drivers and how they impact the business and implications
  • Monitor and enhance Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Oversee Budget Review Process and act as an advisor to the business
  • Review, develop and oversee business investments and the associated cost benefit analysis (including the CBA tracking process)
  • Perform ongoing forensic review of expenses, prepare monthly and quarterly results, identify trends, prepare presentation decks and provide actionable insight to Senior leaders
  • Assist in tracking management's expense reduction efforts through various strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with the team to assist in benchmarking studies and support ad-hoc expense related projects
  • Offer synergies, innovation and efficiencies within the Expense team.

  • Bachelors Degree required,  Finance or Accounting major preferred
  • MBA and/or CPA a plus
  • 5 years related work experience
  • Exceptional PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and business partnering skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects
  • Detail-oriented, eager, and willing to learn
  • “Can Do , Does What It Takes” work ethic
  • Ability to supervise, coach and develop staff to achieve highest level of performance
  • Requires an analytical, organized, self-motivated, driven individual
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect key drivers to the financial impact and summarize the analysis appropriately based on the audience
  • Executive presence and experience dealing with senior business leaders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
