We are looking for an experienced Manager of Sales Training & Development with passion for helping sales professionals help customers achieve their life goals. The selected candidate will be responsible for the initial build and ongoing suite of training programs enabling the sales and service team in a new venture.  A demonstrated ability to establish a training program quickly and consistently deliver exceptional experiences to customers in sales and service will be key.  Capability to identify development needs and talent opportunities, driving rapid and sustainable growth for the new organization will also be a core requirement.



The focus of the team enabled will be to provide needs-centric financial advice, and new and innovative products and fee-based solutions to customers via a RIA and Broker/Dealer chassis.



As the Manager, Sales Training & Development, you will develop a learning strategy that will provide relevant, timely and often required training content to sales and service professionals.  Those learners will provide sales and advanced product support and service to clients by phone and other channels, as needed to provide full, quality coverage of customers’ needs.

You will report to Prudential’s VP of Advisory Sales & Service.  You will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best experience for customers with every interaction.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implements and modifies training programs to ensure maximum effectiveness of sales, service and operations teams and identifies additional training needs.
  • Develops new training courses associated with the introduction, sale and support of new products.
  • Facilitate training programs, monitors attendance and provides holistic training program management for the Sales, Service & Operations organization.
  • Assess the effectiveness of programs and recommend adjustments to optimize value learners and customers served by them.
  • Consult with leaders to determine training and development needs, creating training plan and program proposals and executing them.
  • May supervise the work of others in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • May consult with senior management on complex learning and development needs.
  • Partner with Sales, Service, Operations, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, and other Prudential Business Leaders.






  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Operations or equivalent; MBA preferred
  • Experienced in specialty, and has demonstrated ability to exercise full judgment in the application of knowledge to the solution of difficult tasks.  
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in sales training and/or customer facing capacity; at least 2 if which were in people leadership roles. 
  • License 6 or 7 required.
  • Experience developing, designing and implementing training programs from scratch.


  • Experience working with and contributing programming to a Learning Management System.


  • Strong talent mindset with experience in developing high potential, results oriented individuals.  


  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal) in one-on-one and large group settings


  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and build relationship across the community of learning professionals internal and external to the firm.


  • Innovative problem solving and strategic thinking skills, along with strong program management capabilities.


  • Self-starter with high level of enthusiasm, sense of urgency, and personal accountability for outcomes


  • Ability to execute and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
