Description:

Prudential Individual Life Insurance is seeking a Manager, Sales Training to join its Sales Training & Development team, an integral part of the Life Distribution organization.  This position reports to the Director, Sales Talent Recruiting & Development.   

 

This position is responsible for the creation and delivery of learning experiences directly aligned with our field-facing talent’s needs, including the design, development, facilitation, and ongoing enhancement of skill-based training programs to meet learning needs/requirements of all our market-facing associates at every stage in their development – from new hires’ on-boarding experience to advanced selling skills for our most seasoned talent. 

Primarily will be responsible for the content creation for our eLearning platform. This includes partnering with technology experts to deliver compelling and user-friendly training experiences that get results.

 

The incumbent co-owns the strategy for and execution of product and technical training programs using a variety of methods to meet learners’ needs to understand and position our solutions and sales strategies with advisors and customers. Finally, since this role spends time coaching sales associates on product positioning, the incumbent must be highly consultative, personable, and experienced in helping others increase their knowledge and improve their performance.

 

 Core functional responsibilities include:

·   Create and continuously modify product positioning and technical training programs to meet the needs of the learners.  Topics include but are not limited to our product portfolio, illustration software, SalesForce application, and other systems and processes that enable sales to meet advisors’ and customers’ needs. 

·   Partner closely with product and systems experts, marketing, advanced markets, and system owners to take extensive information and distill it into a logical and engaging learning format that is consistent with our overall sales strategy. 

·   Work closely with Institutional and Independent channel leaders to author training on sales concepts and work closely with the Independent team to provide ongoing training and support for our Winning Sales Designs.

·   Solicit expert input and create the framework for eLearning programs that effectively teach product specifications and emphasize specific positioning needed to help field associates articulate our offering in the context of their customers’ needs.  This includes compiling engaging storyboards for product courses and launches that will be translated into user-friendly online media in partnership with the team’s Director of Learning Technology and Implementation.

·   Lead the development of sales reference and training materials pertaining to Product courses and launches; partner with Learning Specialists to enhance our on – demand platform, onboarding package and pre-work as needed.

·   Work in partnership with sales training to oversee the development of and facilitate all Pinnacle University product courses across live and virtual touch points. Co-lead quarterly 4-day onboarding programs and coach new hires on product positioning as needed. 

·   Lead the needs assessment process, identifying whether a given initiative is a training or communication need, then create a strategy to determine the proper medium for training, as well as how to apportion the content into manageable and engaging segments. 

·   Employ a variety of training methodologies including classroom, virtual training, and electronic communications.  Regularly write and review training launch communications on behalf of sales leaders.

·   Demonstrate technical competence as an enterprise resource with a strong understanding of Life products, services, and processes.


·   This position can be based in either Hartford, CT, Newark, NJ, or Plymouth, MN

·   Strong preference for a minimum of 3 years of experience in a training or communications, sales, especially in the Life or other Financial Services industry – or, proven experience in sales or selling Prudential’s Life products

·   Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.

·   Superior communication skills.

·   Must possess the ability to assess needs, know what is important, and execute accordingly.

·   Creative or PowerPoint design skills that include organizing information in a visually appealing, effective and understandable manner a must.

·   Strong influencing and motivation skills.

·   Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at one time

·   Advanced level of proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint required.

·   BA or BS degree, or equivalent work experience

·   Willingness to travel 30% of the time
