What You'll Do:

Lead a fast paced, high performance team to produce a well-managed, monitored, and resilient software targeted at large service provider customers.
You will be a servant leader of empowered agile development teams, motivate them by providing
purpose, and increase their productivity by removing obstacles.
You will Recruit/Retain a strong team of engineers, performance evaluation, salary planning and budgeting.
You will help the engineering team expand technology and networking knowledge by keeping abreast with the latest developments.
You must have the ability to think at a high level about systems and articulate key tradeoffs in architecture design.
You must manage through collaboration and co-ordination activities across teams and product categories that are geographically distributed.
Maintain effective and structured communication channels with senior leadership team, global engineering teams and cross functional teams.
Ensure compliance and effectiveness with documented Engineering Processes.
Collaborate effectively with Peers to identify Engineering gaps and overlaps and improve effectiveness.
Provide mentoring, coaching to direct staff and indirect staff in order to grow talent to next level.

Who You'll Work With

The Core Software Group (CSG) has the charter for all Platform Independent and Platform Dependent software development across Switching (for data center, campus core and campus access), wireless, network services, routing, optical software and Enterprise routing and cable access. This includes all the Operating Systems and network services for IOS/XE in Enterprise, IOS-XR in Service Provider and NX-OS in Data Center market segments. CSG is creating unprecedented customer value by providing cohesive and innovative software, platforms and solutions for Cisco's core networking customers.

Who You Are

BS/MS in CS/EE with 12+ years of industry experience in network management software applications, with specific experience in creating and leading high performing Engineering teams.
Experience with TCP/IP, Routing Protocols, Network devices, Packet (CE, MPLS, L3VPN etc), Optical (SONET, SDH, CEM), Data Center, Cable technologies.
Exposure to technologies such as JSON, DWR, XML, XSD, XPath, XQuery, Drools
Working knowledge of SNMP, syslog, IOS CLI, Telnet, SSH, SOAP, HTTP , XML, NETCONF etc
Exposure to client side technologies like JSP, AJAX, Struts, Swing, JSF, Dojo, portlet
Exposure to test tools such as, JUnit, JTest, SOATest, SOAPUI etc
Proven project and team management skills with emphasis on quality, execution and product delivery.
Strong people management skills, leading by empowerment and engagement.
Ability to hire top talent, motivate teams.
Agile Development methodologies, Servant Leadership culture.
Good knowledge of Software Engineering practices, Tools and automation frameworks.
Experience in cross-functional Engineering environment that requires interfacing with multiple product teams.
Good understanding and experience with Quality, Software validation and Automation practices.
Ability to introduce and improve Quality practices that ensure zero defects at FCS, no Technical Debt.
Good communications and presentation skills, assertiveness and the ability to take discussions and
open issues to closure by working with local and remote teams.
