This is a new role as the company's lead data governance position responsible for overall tactics and strategy related to Meridian Medical Technologies (a Pfizer Company) manufacturing and product Master Data. Due to the size of Meridian's product portfolio and materials, this is a working role - tactics and strategy, and requires easily moving between scenarios. Previously demonstrated experience working in this capacity within a pharmaceutical or similar (i.e. scientific products) is highly desired, but not required.

This champion will organize the various business stakeholders to establish and continuously improve the concept and execution of Master Data architecture and governance for the company. The immediate view includes:

+ Focus on tactical execution required as part of the Corporate upgrade to Enterprise 1. This role will require an understanding of planned E1 ERP process standardization, automation and process controls as related to master data requirements.

+ Assimilate the Meridian business model and design a master data management governance and plan for a "to-be state"

+ Long-term (12+months), provide knowledge and execution to design, implement, and continuously improve efficient and effective Master Data Governance and business processes in support of strategic business goals.


+ Manage local Meridian/Pfizer Master Data.

+ Oversee the standardization and development of the Meridian/Pfizer Master Data functions within Meridian. Collaborate with Global Teams and Local Teams to develop Master Data Management Governance and Stewardship.

+ Create and maintain ERP master data in the areas of Serialization, Customer, Vendor, Item Masters, BOMs, Routings, Warehouse Management, Costing, Sales Pricing and other related areas in E1

+ Develop Master Data quality programs to insure data quality, integrity, and CI efforts on going.

+ Work with Commercial teams, Logistics, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Operations, Sales, Finance / Accounting, Tax and Trade Management areas, coordinating master data requirements to ensure data consistency, integrity, efficiency, and controls.

+ Support the communication and education of functional master data standards, definitions, processes, policies, and tools to functional data owners

+ Participate and provide business support for continuous improvement projects involving Customer, Vendor, Material Masters, BOMs, Recipes, Costing and Sales Pricing

+ Review/analyze incoming master data requests to determine desired outcome and proper course of action to take

+ Develop a close partnership with Business Technology teams (local/global) to drive and maintain Master data changes and controls.


+ Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field with 10+ years' experience.

+ 5 years' experience in working with Enterprise 1, SAP and/or other software developing business process solutions.

+ Broad understanding of Pharmaceutical business processes within specified functional areas, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Warehousing, Sales and Finance.

+ Thorough understanding of ERP Master Data Management Governance and Stewardship.

+ Strong background in process optimization, control, and improvement

+ Sound business ethics/integrity and management style consistent with the company's values

+ Strong problem solving skills.

+ Decisive and able to make decisions quickly based on sound rationale.

+ Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team or project environment

+ Able to work across boundaries (divisional, functional and geographic) to achieve consensus on important business process and internal control matters.

+ Strong communication skills, written and verbal; honest, open and direct.

+ Effective presentation skills to describe the importance of Master data concepts and strength to deliver business objectives to the "major majority" - from Senior Leadership to line workers.

+ Project management and/or Lean 6S certification; detailed knowledge of project practices, principles and supporting systems and tools

+ Demonstrate effective negotiating and influencing skills, good interpersonal, leadership, and a team player.

+ Strong understanding of and proficient with data gathering, analysis, visualization tools (e.g. TOAD, KNIME, Tableau, SQL, Informa, Excel, Crystal, or comparable).


+ Position requires regular onsite attendance - this position cannot be performed on a remote or telecommute basis on a temporary, short or long term basis.

+ Must have the ability to simultaneously multi-task across multiple capabilities and functions and handle multiple competing priorities and requirements, including performing site and functional responsibilities, responding to frequent e-mail and phone communications and attending multiple meetings and conference calls. Note that these activities may not be time bound to core hours or presence at the site.

+ Must have the ability to work effectively under and manage to strict production, time and performance deadlines.

+ Must be willing and able to work beyond the hours typically defined as a "regular" workday, which may or may not include weekends and holidays.


Site is a 24x7 manufacturing operation. Responsibility of team oversight and work direction outside of normal working hours may be required.
