Description

The Manager, User Experience Design is responsible for leading a team of UX designers to deliver best and class products and services across Kellye Blue Book. This person reports directly to the Sr. Director, User Experience and serve as a key member of the User Experience leadership team. The ideal candidate has a broad understanding of the User Experience discipline and can effectively manage Interaction Designers as well as partner with the UX Manager of Creative Services to ensure delivery of high quality, brand appropriate solutions. This person is an inspirational leader with strong collaboration and team building skills with a proven track record of working cross-functionally to conceive, articulate and produce cross-platform design solutions that meet business objectives and consumer needs. They must be capable of solving complex communication challenges and lead the design of innovative user experience solutions. This is a working manager role, and as such this person will be required to roll up their sleeves and help the team deliver on their commitments.
Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, hire, grow and retain a team of interaction designers
  • Effectively manage the team to deliver on commitments in an agile environment
  • Participate as a UX lead for one or more release trains
  • Collaborate across the product organization on future concepts and the evolution of our products and services to help build and influence our roadmap
  • Partner with research and analytics to ensure that solutions are properly evaluated, insights are clarified, and action is taken to address deficiencies in the design solution.
  • Partner with content strategy to ensure that all design solutions adhere to KBB voice and tone standards. 
  • Produce concepts, wireframe flows, and prototypes to help the team deliver on their commitments.
  • Advocate for and demonstrate adherence to the KBB user centered design process
  • Ensure all deliverables adhere to standards for quality and performance, as measured in terms of usability, consistency, style and business metrics

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in creating and delivering world class design solutions
  • Demonstrated Leadership ability with
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and influence executives, business leaders, product managers and technology leaders
  • Deep understanding of user experience design and usability
  • Previous experience coordinating priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to align team’s work to the overall vision and obtain buy-in support from the organization
  • Ability to think strategically and make decisions based on data
  • Effective manager of people with strong team-building and personal development skills
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and influence team members and business counterparts
  • Comfortable managing multiple complex projects, people and resources in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, dynamic environment
  • Ability to translate business questions and needs into user experience requirements
  • Capacity to succeed under pressure
  • Innovative problem solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; Masters degree preferred
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry is a plus
