The Manufacturing Engineer Associate Resource manages all activities associated with their front line team, in order to positively impact the overall department. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety. This role is expected to develop individuals and the team to solve operational issues and motivate team members to achieve performance targets.

  • Lead team of 15 to 30 hourly associates with varying levels of experience and education
  • Responsible for people and team development, quality performance, cost, service and safety
  • Organize and facilitate team meetings to achieve continuous improvement process
  • Coach team members on appropriate processes and facilitate problem solving on the floor
  • Administer policies and procedures
  • Initiate and implement projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short & long term performance goals
  • Communicate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues
  • Motivate team members to achieve plan goals
  • Organize and facilitate work team meetings (examples: pre-shift, roundtables, etc.)
  • Solve daily operational issues
  • Administer policies and practices
  • Initiate and implement projects
  • Conduct presentations and formal training programs
  • Improve team communication and engagement
  • Think quickly, creatively and challenge team to do the same

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Project management skills
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment with the ability to make tradeoff decisions quickly

  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field
  • Must be willing to work an off shift, 2nd or 3rd
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Food/beverage experience preferred
  • Must possess strong skills, knowledge and capability in lean manufacturing, effective communications, and problem solving.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring skills
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
