Pfizer's Global Financial Solutions (GFS) Shared Services is a well-established operation with beginnings in Memphis, Tenn., in 1997. The organization expanded to Europe in 2003, Asia in 2007, Latin America in 2013, and Eastern Europe in 2014. GFS Shared Services has a workforce of more than 900 Pfizer colleagues, in addition to a successful partnership with a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner, Genpact, in three locations globally.

The GFS Shared Services center located in Costa Rica will support all Latin America MAPP transactions (My Anti-Corruption Policies and Procedures) associated to FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act). The Team Leader position is responsible for managing the workload distribution, the quality of compliance controls and the accuracy of data that is produced by the Analyst/ Sr. Analyst role. This role will be responsible to ensure that all transactions managed by the Analyst/Sr. Analysts are managed to the highest compliance standards and they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner. The Team Leader role will complete compliance checks for exceptions and certain thresholds and work through any transaction issues or escalations. This role is responsible for communicating compliance risks, exceptions and challenges to the Process Lead and /or MAPP Lead.

This position will be based in Costa Rica and will manage between 10-15 Analysts/Sr. Analysts. The role will report to the MAPP Lead in Costa Rica. This position will be responsible for escalation, questions, completeness review, reviewing compliance checklist summaries and continuous improvements for future efficiencies.


+ Receive, and assign all transactions coming into the transaction center

+ Detailed review/submission of a sampling of MAPP data/submissions to ensure accuracy

+ Ensure all information by Analysts/ Sr. Analysts are properly documented in workflow system

+ Ensure MAPP transactions are in compliance with MAPP policy

+ Ensure team manages all transactions using accurate standard operating procedures and SOX related internal control documentation

+ Responsible for reviewing completed compliance check list of compliance activities from Analyst/Sr. Analyst

+ Direct interactions with business colleagues, healthcare professionals and external organizations

+ Responsible for communicating with internal and external business professionals

+ Work with Legal and Compliance to get approvals for exceptions and suspicious documentation

+ Review final draft of healthcare contracts for external healthcare professionals, ensuring fair market value is accurate (per FMV calculator) and the HCP has been qualified (CV review)

+ Work with legal, compliance and market approvers to handle exceptions and approvals

+ Raise compliance questions/ challenges to Process Lead for direction/ controls

+ Bachelor Degree or equivalent is required

+ 5+ years of experience with accounting or compliance transactions, preferably in a shared service with strong compliance controls

+ Experience with FCPA transactions preferred

+ Management of multiple client stakeholders

+ Previous experience with pharmaceutical companies is preferred


+ Proficiency in PC skills (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint) required

+ SAP / Oracle experience preferred

+ Good organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple priorities

+ Proficient written and verbal skills to enable effective communication with all levels of management

+ Ability to analytically review and challenge statutory financial statements to ensure completeness, accuracy, adherence to accounting standards, etc.

+ Strong technical skills in managing transactions within a global system
