The Medical Home model consists of a diverse team of highly qualified internists and family practice physicians, on-staff and contracted specialists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. We are currently seeking a Market Medical Director to join our team of physicians in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The MMD is a member of the Market Management Team who is responsible for improving the quality and efficiency of medical care in his/her market.   The MMD is viewed as a Physician educator and will travel within the local Dallas market area to meet with participating PCPs and consult with them on best practices.  The MMD will also participate and provide market feedback in Patient Care Coordination meetings, drive improvement of quality indicators in assigned market by identifying, directing, and executing continuous quality improvement activities or processes, and oversee quality improvement initiatives.
In this role you will:
  • Educate primary care physicians on systems, structure, processes and outcomes that are necessary for assurance of regulatory compliance related to market activities
  • Develop strategies for improving all aspects of market performance including coding, documentation, membership and medical management
  • Analyze aggregate data and reports to primary care physicians
  • Approximately 50% daily travel within market
  • Supervise functions of Care Coordination
  • Assess the effectiveness of the specialty network to ensure members have access to multi-specialties within their demographic area
  • Educate primary care network and assists in problem resolution
  • Evaluate performance of physicians with regard to goals and objectives
  • Interface with physicians / medical group staff professionally developing credibility
  • Delivery timely response / communications to physicians on all needed follow up issues
  • Provide quality assurance and education of current medical technologies, review criteria, accepted practice of medicine guidelines
  • Complete other related duties as assigned / needed 
Professional / Physician Development:
  • Actively facilitate training and weekly, monthly etc. physician meetings
  • Guide and educate new physicians to ensure understanding of company policy and resources available for physician support
  • Encourage teamwork and cooperation amongst medical group staffs and prepare for cross training and float positions
  • Assist in the growth and development of subordinates by mentoring, sharing knowledge and promoting continued education
  • Attend continuing education classes to keep abreast of medical advancements and innovative practice guidelines
