The Marketing Representative is responsible for managing existing accounts and the development of new accounts in the Palm Beach, Treasure Coast and South Florida market.

Working directly with the Director of Business Development, this position is a full time marketing position.

 

Job Description:

Assist in the organization and implementation of the marketing plan and business development strategy.  Assists the Director of Business Development in the development and coordination of projects.  Represents the facility to the community, interested persons and potential referral sources within the identified market service area.  Performs local marketing functions as assigned by the Marketing Manager.

  • Identifies the most viable, potential referral sources/payers within the target markets and determine how to access those sources.

  • Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of target markets and the needs of existing and potential referral sources within assigned territories.

  • Coordinates meetings and clinical team calls with referral sources and facility staff (i.e., tours and potential client-specific questions).

  • Submits all required weekly and monthly sales/contact forms in a timely manner.

  • Uses effective questioning strategies to understand the customer’s current situation and uncover their needs.

  • Develops and communicates action plans and solutions which meet customer objectives.

  • Consistently gains customer commitment throughout the selling process.

  • Effectively manages customer objections during the selling process.

  • Provides individualized follow-up services when appropriate.

  • Maintains thorough understanding of competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and current positions in the market and reports any updates or changes to the Marketing Manager.

  • Develops a contact list of step-down/alternative placement programs and community resources in assigned markets to assist Intake department with case management.

  • Utilizes basic understanding of other departments and hospital processes that support utilization of continuum of care.

  • Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver assignments on time.

  • Participates in the bi-weekly and monthly marketing meetings.

  • Plans travel so that time is spent efficiently and productively.Production is measured by the number of face-to-face contacts, number of calls generated, and number of admissions.

  • Weekly enter all marketing contacts into the MS4 database, keeping the addresses and phone numbers current for direct mail campaigns.

  • Develops an individual sales plan making 10 contacts per day.

  • Weekly contacts will include approximately 2 new business calls daily, 2 scheduled appointments daily, and the remainder will be building the relationship from a cold call and follow-up status.

  • Submits the Monthly Contact Recap report no later than the 3rd of each month.

  • Search for leads and identify follow-up opportunities from the Intake Activity Log and Communication Log each week.

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate program changes and concepts to referral sources.

  • Checks all email and correspondence and responds in a timely manner.

  • Exhibits a friendly, professional manner and appearance when meeting with referral sources and attending community functions.

  • Attends and/or exhibits at professional workshops/conferences.

  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by effectively utilizing resources in a cost effective manner.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a Behavioral Health Area, Marketing/Communications, Business Administration or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.  Also, must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in health care business development, healthcare marketing and sales, contract management environment with measurable business development results, pharmaceutical/medical sales, and a basic knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles, preferred. Bilingual candidates preferred.  Special Qualification:  Must have a valid driver’s license with minimal moving violations in the past (3) years.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of key marketing and community relations concepts and methodology and strategic planning.

  • Knowledge of new and continuing marketing and community relations account management.

  • Ability to analyze market tendencies and project marketing and community relational changing needs.

  • Working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and Office Suite.

  • Ability to generate, interpret and communicate data from statistical reports.

  • Ability to work in a fast –paced environment.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and set priorities.

  • Ability to develop creative marketing ideas.
