Job Description

Parkwood Behavioral Health System has provided behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region since 1987. We are located in DeSoto County, in the uppermost northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

We offer a full continuum of care that provides treatment options to meet the individual needs of adults, adolescents and children. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Marketing Representative

We are currently seeking a full-time Marketing Representative to serve the Memphis, TN and Shelby County area.  The Marketing Representative achieves optimal utilization of Parkwood’s continuum of care by developing and maintaining direct referral relationships in designated markets.  The Marketing Representative provides Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Marketing Department. The Marketing Representative participates in the Account Management system, assessing the needs of the customer and making the required number of marketing contacts to each account, in order to develop and maintain a long-term referral relationship which will generate a continuous flow of admissions to meet hospital census objectives.  He/she plans events, provides tours, performs referral source in-services, acts as a liaison between the Referral Source and the hospital, and seeks out new business development opportunities for the hospital.

Job Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description.  The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.  Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to varied population of patients in an inpatient, residential, IOP and partial hospital setting.

Education:  Bachelors Degree in a marketing or human services field.

Experience:   Sales experience or clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population required.  Prefer experience in developing new territories in target markets with customer base.  Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse terminology. 

Licensure/Certification:    N/A

Knowledge:    Prefer knowledge of business development techniques

Supervision Received:     Director of Business Development

In absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts and develop these skills within reasonable time frame via the organization’s orientation and training program.
