Position Summary 
 

We are seeking a skilled professional with healthca re experience to join our marketing and business development team. The Marketing Representative implements the hospital business development plan to exceed admissions targets in the assigned geographic territory by focusing on developing and managing productive, long-term referral relationships with primary existing and new referral sources. This position involves daily travel in a defined geographic territory to meet with contacts with primary referral sources including hospitals, crisis centers, psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health and substance abuse professionals, other physicians, and other community resources.

Primary Responsibilities


1. Develop new leads and manage existing customer relationships within accounts in the hospital’s emergency departments, psychiatric emergency screening services, inpatient unit and pain management centers, as well as directly to psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health and substance abuse professionals, other physicians and other community resources through face-to-face meetings as directed by the Director of Business Development.

2. Develop a designated number of qualified business development face-to-face meetings and contacts per week, which will achieve the overall business development goals and objectives.

3. Maintain leads and account database to keep current contact information, and update as required.

4. Contact all primary lead and account contacts through personal visits, telephone calls and emails, marketing emailing’s on an ongoing basis, developing and encouraging a relationship of trust with all active contacts.

5. Monitor referrals and admissions, and plan an appropriate strategy to maximize referral potential.

6. Maintain current awareness of changes in the industry through self-education, peer education, and professional and community involvement for the betterment of this position and the facility.

7. Maintain a competition informational file and contribute to the ongoing SWOT analysis.

8. Participate actively on the business development team and with Needs Assessment staff to increase productivity and reduce duplication of efforts.

9. Promote the team concept within the facility.

10. Participate in the evaluation and analysis of referrals source statistics and provide recommendations to overall business planning strategies as appropriate.

11. Participate in the development/production of marketing materials, including the website.

12. Attend scheduled department meetings to provide the Director with timely reports on weekly and month-end reviews, number of clients referred, and other reporting requirements.

13 Attend in-house planning and development committee meetings, as requested.

14. Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.

15. Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.

16. Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.

17. Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.

18. Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.

Requirements

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health area; Master's Degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum of three years experience in health care business development/marketing environment preferred. Must have knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles.

Licensure: Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
