The Mechanical Product Engineer provides new product introduction and ongoing engineering support for a specific family of products from early conceptual designs through end of life. In this role:


-  You will hold New Product Introduction responsibilities (NPI) involving influence and actions related to optimizing cost, quality and delivery of the products throughout the supply chain and customer environment. 


-  You will design for X (DfX) is a primary focus area involving design for manufacturability, assembly, automation, test, cost, quality, supply chain and customer-use within the new product development process. 


-  You will provide sustaining product engineering support to drive Value Engineering


-  You will provide product technical expertise to support action and issue resolution during the entire product lifecycle.




You will serve as a key member of the Product Operations team. As Product Engineers, we partner closely with the Development organizations including Mechanical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Regulatory Compliance and Safety, Program Management, GSM, Technology & Quality. We also work directly with our Contract Manufacturing partners located throughout the globe to launch and deliver Cisco products.




The Mechanical Product Engineer role is technical with a strong focus on business operations required to enable the best customer experience for Cisco products and services.


-  Do you have a BS in Mechanical Engineering?


-  Do you offer hands on experience and understanding of the electro-mechanical manufacturing environment? 


-  Do you offer knowledge of the commodities used for the electro-mechanical systems coupled with knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems used for network equipment?


-  Are you experienced with DfX, proficiency in the use of Design Tools (MCAD) and have the ability to work effectively in a diverse and cross-functional team environment?


-  You have strong communication and influencing skills and are able to work in a very collaborative and results-oriented team environment.


-   You will drive Cisco’s performance expectations for Cost, Quality and Delivery.


-   You offer 2-5 years of relevant experience preferably within a manufacturing setting.
