**Job description Medical Advisor Inflammation & Immunology Netherlands**



The Medical Advisor within the Dutch I&I medical team will be a highly motivated individual with a record of strong performance and a passion for high quality and relevant physician engagement based upon their own clinical and scientific credibility. The person will be providing medical and scientific input to allocated medical activities for the Pfizer Innovative Health business unit (PIH) for their nominated brand(s) .



The role will be reporting into the Benelux Medical Team Lead, directly liaise and be aligned with the cross-functional team members.







Provide input to the medical I&I meetings and lead in the delivery of allocated medical programs and activities, ensuring, through their contribution to cross-functional team working, that medical plans are successfully implemented to achieve short- and long-term objectives.







The individual must have strong collaboration skills and be willing to actively partner with other functions to drive meaningful business results of the I&I department.







**Responsibilities:**

**Scientific leadership and partnerships, customer engagement and leveraging expert insights.**







+ Support/lead medical activities and interactions with key experts and key external stakeholders on behalf of Pfizer and record all relevant customer interactions.



+ Act as a Brand medical champion, considering impact on key stakeholders.



+ Engaging and building relationships with clinical thought leaders and relevant organizations in the therapy area to gain insights to feed into medical strategies.







**Planning, organization and implementation of expert meetings, trainings and educational events, participation in medical conferences.**







+ The right candidate must demonstrate the ability to independently plan and implement consistent high quality interaction with key opinion leaders in the specific therapeutic area(s).



+ Collaboration with advisory board members in preparation for meetings and on an ongoing basis to obtain medical insights.



+ Leverage the advisory board relationships and other KOLs.



+ Participate and support I&I medical update & training meetings.



+ Ensure skilled medical support for other functions (commercial, market access, etc.)







**Investigator initiated research, clinical studies, other projects**







+ Advice on development of IIR concepts and full proposals (in line with brand IIR strategy). Internal discussion of proposals with above country medical teams.



+ Follow up with investigators, co-ordination of contract execution and medication supply if requested.



+ Budget responsibility, management and forecasting.



+ Regular contact with investigators throughout the study, reporting on progress



+ Input to in country and above country strategy of clinical plans for assigned products



+ Support feasibility process (within responsibility of MA) through collaboration with clinical operations







**Contact partner for medical and product related problems and tasks from external and internal stakeholders**







+ Medical expert for all products in the assigned portfolio.



+ Support of internal customers with all relevant medical and scientific problems and tasks e.g. medical support for promotional materials, medical education of marketing and sales colleagues, formulary applications and regulatory documents



+ Collaboration with teams and committees at a national and international level.



+ Response to unsolicited requests for unlicensed use in line with regulations and Pfizer processes.



+ Initiate the response to unsolicited queries on unlicensed use or drug in compliance with regulations and Pfizer processes.



+ Ensure timely medical review for all materials according to Pfizer policies and procedures.



+ Ensure appropriate adaptation of materials to local regulatory requirements as needed.







**Competitive intelligence**







+ The medical expertise will include an understanding of relevant competitive activity including ongoing studies and product development initiatives.



+ Follow all compliance processes associated with the provision of scientific materials.







**REQUIRED SKILL SET**







+ **Good knowledge and experience in the following t herapeutic area : Immunology and Inflammation more specifically related to Gastroenterology/Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Rheumatology and dermatology is preferable**



+ Good knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including knowledge of regulations for approval, reimbursement and usage of drugs.



+ Deep knowledge of the relevant and applicable Codes of Practice, SOPs, regulations and guidelines.



+ Good knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory legislation and how it impacts the product portfolio.



+ Facilitate open discussion and debate among key stakeholders and build internal and external relationships through partnering, anticipating needs, fulfilling expectations



+ Ability to function effectively in a complex, changing environment.



+ Well-organized with the ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands and function effectively in a matrix organization.



+ Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills.



+ Pro-active mindset, self-starter.



+ Fluency in English and Dutch required.



+ Good understanding of current computer software and databases.







**CERTIFICATION / EDUCATION:**







+ MD preferred, in alternative PhD with track record of publications in the area of inflammatory bowel diseases preferred .



+ Understanding of basic immunology concepts and inflammatory bowel diseases.







**EXPERIENCE:**







+ Working experience in clinical practice and/or hospital.



+ At least 3 to 4 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.



+ Preferred previous experience in a Medical advisors role with strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).



+ Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.



+ Experience with physician or KOL engagement.



+ Familiar with clinical research and clinical study design.
