Job Details


**Key Accountabilities** **1. Strategic/Policy**

+ Development and implementation of a medically sound cross-functional strategies, to ensure Pfizer meets its strategic business goals and objectives, while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements

+ Knowledge of R&D capabilities in the country, serves as a link between Pfizer and local institutions for scientific synergies/opportunities/collaborations.

+ Provide scientific support for the development and approval of promotional materials following applicable Pfizer policies, procedures, and practices.

+ Development of strong, lasting professional relationships with key opinion leaders, based on science and mutual scientific, educational, and philanthropic interests

+ Collaborate with Clinical Development to select investigators and sites selected to conduct Pfizer's protocols are adequate and qualified; ensuring Pfizer's leadership image in innovation and research

+ Interaction with other functions within the organization in order to provide inputs, support and strategic direction to corporate initiatives, social responsibilities, including access to medicines.

**2. Operational**

**Medical Operations**

Ensure medical support to the marketing and sales effort through:

+ Participation in promotional strategy and planning initiatives and supporting implementation

+ Supporting the development of promotional materials

+ Coordinating and extending medical expertise to advisory boards and focus panels

+ Provide disease awareness and product knowledge of all brands that are actively promoted to internal (marketing colleagues and sales force) and external customers (health care professionals, patients and general public)

+ Build synergies with field force therapeutic area and strategic alliance development activities to create value for the business

+ Support with scientific evidence, pharmaco-economic and health outcome data to the group supporting institutional sales

+ Provide resources for field-based medical support activities, as necessary **Training**

+ On an ongoing basis, develop, implement, and/or enable access to training and orientation programs for medical staff in their specific functions

+ On an ongoing basis, provide training support to the field force concerning scientific and medical aspects

**3. Medical Quality & Compliance**

- Ensure compliance with applicable SOPs, guidelines, & regulations within country medical functions

4. **Clinical Development** (depend on PCO strategy and priority, in case assigned by line manager)

+ Ensure development of scientifically valid and ethical protocols, study plans and appropriate reporting of local studies, as necessary

+ Ensure high quality, timely implementation and delivery on clinical programs

+ Ensure leveraging of clinical operations expertise for support to business goals, and conversely, ensure adequate support of commercial operations to clinical research objectives

+ Leverage Pfizer leadership in clinical research

5. **Other jobs/project as assigned by Line Manager**


1. **Qualification**

+ Physician with MD (medical doctor)

+ More than 2-3 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, with experience of medical affairs, and general management.

2. **Special Skills & Knowledge**

+ Thorough knowledge of pharmacokinetic principles, pharmacology and therapeutics

+ Knowledge of medical specialties/ therapeutic areas

+ Knowledge of clinical research processes, GCP, local regulations and research guidelines,

+ In-depth Knowledge of local and awareness of international laws and regulations applicable to the pharmaceutical industry

+ Knowledge and experience of the pharmaceutical market place and prevalent medical practices

+ Knowledge of community and public health issues, MOH priorities, epidemiology and health economics, intellectual property issues

+ Good general and technical communication skills, both written and oral

+ Good knowledge of pharmaceutical business

+ Medical professionalism and medical ethics
