Primary Responsibilities:

The role of a Medical Assistant is to provide service, information, and assistance to claimants and physicians to ensure effective operation of MSLA clinics.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examination
  • Maintain patient medical records
  • Perform Dx testing, EKG’s, PFT’s, ABI/Dopplers
  • Assist physician(s) during examinations
  • Collect laboratory specimens
  • Take patient vitals
  • Take inventory
  • Disinfect medical equipment
  • Provide customer service
  • Prepare patient charts
  • Update patient charts, including missing medical records
  • Obtain authorization for ordered procedures
  • Answer telephones
  • Submit medical charts to MSLA corporate office
  • All other duties assigned by Management.

Required Qualifications:                                            
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant certification
  • CPR & First Aid certification

The employee is expected to be able to reach with either arm
  • Postural abilities: Bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching may be required. The employee is not expected to lift heavy objects greater than 25 lbs. Employee will be required to climb steps
