We are an Outpatient program offering a comprehensive, integrated program that addresses the needs of the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Job Requirements

Position Summary

Manages all psychopharmacologic treatment of clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides supervision to medical staff performing, and performs as needed, routine and emergent comprehensive clinical/psychiatric evaluations and psychopharmacologic treatment of patients at admission and ongoing, completing documentation of all evaluations and treatment visits on the day of the session and according to FRN documentation requirements.

Ensures timely meetings with clients and attendant timely documentation of related notes.

Supervises the monitoring of lab levels and specialty tests.

Supervises medication monitoring practices.

Supervises comfort-enhancing and medication-tapering procedures, as appropriate, for patient population.

Practices according to industry standards for psychopharmacologic treatment.

Communicates with medical staff and treatment team regarding status and treatment of patients.

Jointly with management team, reviews reports of accidents or unusual incidents and makes recommendations for program modifications.

Provides consultation on matters regarding medical care, standards of care, surveillance, and infection control.

Supervises medical treatment planning processes for patients.

Provides input into clinical staffing.

Provides ongoing training for clinical staff.

Provides one medical/addiction education group per month to patients.

Performs all other duties as required or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to inspire client confidence in the FRN Staff and the FRN Model of Treatment.
Ability to consistently demonstrate through conduct and communications the stability required to effectively assist patients and their family members through the FRN Model of Treatment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Must have high level of interpersonal skills. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, professionalism, tact and diplomacy.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of addiction, MI, and related issues.

Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and continuing care for dually diagnosed populations.

Understanding of diagnostic criteria for dual conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and placement criteria within the continuum of care.

Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Demonstrates ability to manage people which includes planning, decision making and facilitating process improvements; takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities; makes self available to staff and provides regular performance feedback.

Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.

Exhibits excellent customer relation skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, residents, visitors, families and referral sources.

Education and Experience

Medical degree and license to practice in State of Georgia required.

Must be board-certified in Psychiatry.

Must have certificate in addiction from the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Must have expertise and experience treating patients with mental illness and substance dependency conditions.

Supervisory and training experience a plus.
