Prudential’s Group Insurance (GI) Medical Underwriting team is seeking an Underwriting Analyst to be dedicated to Association Business, including the AICPA account.  The individual will be responsible for analyzing trends and drivers within the Medical Underwriting process in order to enhance the customer experience. The ability to identify process enhancement opportunities and independently lead projects, positively impacting customer satisfaction is critical in this role. Responsibilities will also include resolution of complex Medical Underwriting inquiries and partnering closely with members of the AICPA, AON (Plan Agent) and the Association /AICPA Sales and Account Management Team.
This position requires a self motivated individual with the ability to work independently.  Also critical to this role is the ability to review and analyze customer-specific data, identify conclusions/recommendations and present findings clearly and succinctly. Strong product knowledge would be beneficial in order to investigate and resolve inquiries and provide timely responses.  The incumbent should demonstrate industry leading Customer Service, internally and externally.
Daily activities include but are not limited to:
  • Analyzing Medical Underwriting statistics in order to identify trends and propose solutions
  • Responding to inquiries from AON (Plan Agent) and Association/AICPA Account Management Team
  • Monitoring pending cases and partnering with vendors to ensure timely turnaround
  • Identify and lead projects aimed at enhancing the Medical Underwriting process in order to positively impact customer satisfaction and turnaround time


  • Critical thinking skills (ability to use data to identify trends and propose solutions)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven project management skills
  • Medical Underwriting experience preferred but not required
  • Life and LTD product knowledge preferred
  • Experience with Association business preferred but not required
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Power Point
