GARFIELD PARK HOSPITAL is a new 88-bed psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing quality behavioral health services for its diverse population of children and adolescents. Garfield Park Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility offering some of the most advanced technologies and programs found in the behavioral health field. We are dedicated to our teamwork approach and provide a compassionate and therapeutic environment, as well as offering a continuum of specialty programs throughout our inpatient, partial and outpatient services. Garfield Park Hospital is owned by Universal Health Services, Inc., one of the largest and most respected hospital management companies in the nation. UHS owns and operates 218 locally-managed facilities, including 25 acute care hospitals, 187 behavioral health facilities and six ambulatory surgery centers in 36 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Hospital is seeking Mental Health Specialists. We are growing and need additional staff for our Night Shifts. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a stable and growing behavioral health organization in the Chicago land community. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, and assistance with patient daily living activities.

 

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field strongly preferred. Non-degreed applicants with 5-10 years of related psychiatric experience will also be considered

  • 3-5yrs of directly related Mental Health Experience Required

  • Experience with child and adolescent populations required

  • Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior management, and crisis management

  • Masters level Mental Health Specialists also welcome.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus!
