West Oaks, located in southwest Houston, is a fully accredited 144 bed acute care facility and 16 bed adult CD residential facility dedicated to the provision of quality care and assistance for individuals and families in need of psychiatric care and treatment for substance abuse. West Oaks Hospital offers the community a broad range of inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults. We also offer residential adult chemical dependency services. West Oaks Hospital is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for any questions or inquiries about our programs.

West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Mental Health Technician to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. Purpose: The Mental Health Worker work, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides clerical and patient care activities in the treatment and care of patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions. He/She manages behavioral problems and facilitates education and activity groups.  He/She actively participates as a member of the treatment team and performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION
Required: High school diploma or GED. Preferred: 60 hours of college.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
CPR certification. Handle with Care certification.

EXPERIENCE
One year inpatient psychiatric experience with adults or residential experience with children or adolescents preferred.
