Job Details


The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality assurance throughout its life cycle. Types of projects in this role include technical transfers, new product introductions and significant improvement projects having significant regulatory impact.


Directs and manages project development from beginning to end

Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders

Develops full-scale project plans and associated communications documents

Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

Liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis

Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals

Drafts and submits budget proposals, and recommends subsequent budget changes where necessary

Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders

Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel

Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts with the project team

Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path

Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools

Tracks project milestones and deliverables

Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations

Defines project success criteria

Coaches, mentors, motivates and supervises project team members and influences them to take action on assigned work

Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project

Conducts project post mortems and creates a closure memo in order to identify lessons learned

Develops best practices and tools for project execution and management


Education: BA/BS w/7+ yrs experience or Masters Degree with 5+ yrs experience

Minimum of five years direct work experience in a project management capacity

Certification in project management is desirable

Experience in API, injectables and/or non-sterile liquids is highly desired

Strong familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project is required

Need to be technically competent with various software programs, such as MS Office

Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently

Flexible during times of change

Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating

Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise

Strong written and oral communication skills

Customer service skills are an asset


Depending on the scope of project, this position will interact with various support functions on site including, but not limited to, Quality, Operations, PPT, EHS, and Finance. External interactions with colleagues at other sites or above site may also be required as projects dictate.
