Job Description

::

Provides oversight for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of quality, and patient safety initiatives within the

transplant program. Responsibilities include review of evidenced based literature to establish benchmarks and suggests annual updates and

revisions to the performance indicators for monitoring and evaluating quality and safety throughout the transplant process. Maintains current

knowledge of quality requirements related to external agencies that oversee transplantation including C MS, UNOS, and the ESRD Network.

Reviews data from the Scientific Registry for Transplant Recipients (SRTR). Reports quality assurance and performance improvement activities

to transplant team on a monthly basis and to hospital administration annually or more frequently as requested. Develops internal and external

relationships to ensure the delivery of quality patient care to transplant patients, families and living donors throughout all phases of

transplantation and living donation.

Job Requirements

::

Education/Qualification

BSN or Master’s degree in healthcare related field required

Four years’ experience in transplantation which includes one year experience in quality management, data coordination, process

improvement or comparable experience.

C oursework in statistics preferred.

Successful completion of the Nurse C areer Battery (Only for employees hired for/or promoted into Registered Nurse position after

October 15, 2008)

 Certification in specialty preferred (C C TC , (clinical coordinators transplant certificate) must be obtained within 6 months of

employment)

Skills

Proficiency in the use of the Internet, PubMed, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft office

Effective personal and professional written and verbal communication skills, work effectively with physicians and team as well as with

multidisciplinary staff across clinical areas.

Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as strong project management skills.

Strong knowledge of healthcare trends in transplantation and quality improvement concepts

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Strong critical thinking and decision making skills
