When you join us at UnitedHealthcare as the Respite Housing Supervisor, you will use your sharp business skills to assist in creating, controlling and improving business processes to more effectively connect housing and healthcare. You will solve complex problems as you serve as a resource to others on your elite team. You will create process design, project implementation, diagnose process improvement opportunities and develop solutions. You will also provide quality reporting, analysis, audits, and develop plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement. Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute and deliver a high quality program to build the capacity of affordable housing and care options to support medically complex, vulnerable, and housing challenged myConnections members
  • Provide technical assistance to myConnections team to support the development of innovative programs.  This includes defining the initial project, planning, site visits to view existing programs, brokering partnerships, understand and incorporating existing referral processes, financial analysis, building internal support for projects, and other areas as needed
  • Initiation and development of relationships and collaboration strategies with the housing-focused community and care based organizations to identify new and existing opportunities for accessing resources

  • Collaboration with state agencies, community organizations and other social service agencies to promote and grow housing and complex care opportunities within the city, county, and/or region

  • Work in a team approach to engaging community leaders, services providers, affordable housing landlords to develop and advocate for programming that supports creating innovative collaborations to connect individuals to complex care housing options

  • Implement and oversee reporting systems and other tracking tools to demonstrate program performance as needed
  • Foster collaboration between myConnections and local partners to build support and capacity for affordable or supportive housing
  • Convene and facilitate meetings focused on identifying and implementing strategies to increase connecting individuals to affordable and supportive housing options
  • Represent myConnections in internal and public forums including public presentations and meetings with external partners and stakeholders
  • Diagnose process improvement opportunities and develop solutions using principles of process excellence and related tools

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, Social Services or related field

  • 4+ year of experience in low income/ supportive housing development, and/or housing operations, housing-based supportive services

  • 4+ years of leadership experience including developing external partnerships, relationship development, working in a team, or other similar leadership experience

  • 2+ years of experience with documenting processes and practices while effectively prioritizing multiple tasks, priorities, projects, and deadlines

  • Located in work from home office in Detroit area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships, work with colleagues and external audiences and partner in areas of system change, housing development/operations, the delivery of supportive service development

  • Ability to take initiative to implement projects and pursue goals with moderate supervision.

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and simply, coupled with a strong creative sensibility and ability to think strategically

  • Previous Healthcare Industry experience, public medical assistance (Medicaid or Medicare)

  • Excellent computer skills including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and skills in data analysis and management
