*Role Description*

**Please note, there are multiple openings for this position. If you wish to be considered for all positions, you must apply to each separate job ID**Performs standard microbiological tests for conformance to company and compendial specification. Uses a variety of standard laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Assists in the writing of monographs and SOPs. May be assigned to assist in special projects.


1.Performs testing of B.E.T., sterility, potency assays, environmental and limit testing on all products. Uses a variety of standard equipment and instrumentation.2.Prepares materials necessary for performing the validations. Assures instruments function properly and insures they are calibrated according to SOPs. Assures microbiological media are properly prepared and tested for sterility and growth promotion as well as proper preparation of product for testing.3.Maintains records of all analysis information of assigned products on data sheets for permanent file and proper entry of information on laboratory forms.4.Assists in writing and updating standard operating procedures as related to microbiology and pharmacology. 5.Performs test method validation such as bacteriostasis and fungistasis, BET, AMC, etc. on product.6.Performs microbiological genus identification of microbial isolates.7.Evaluates all data obtained from analysis, identifies discrepancy or deviation, consults with supervisor and recommends any additional testing.8.Investigates laboratory and manufacturing problems as related to BQ testing by using available facilities, known techniques and professional expertise to define potential causes.9.Performs investigative testing on projects and other laboratory duties related to microbiology and bioassay. Writes quality reports for special studies.10.Participates in employee involvement team(s).11.Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.12.Maintains a clean and organized laboratory environment.


Competent knowledge and understanding of fundamental principles of Microbiology and GMP. Bachelor's degree required in science.
