Job Description

::Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, assists in the coordination of services provided to active duty Service Members and military dependents.  Provides oversight of all Service Member cases admitted to the hospital to ensure assigned duties are complete while providing consultation and program development for the Cumberland Hall Hospital military units.  The Military Care Manager provides utilization management & assists in identifying strategies designed to improve patient care and outcomes.  They will ensure outcome measures are properly administered and utilized. Employee shall function in compliance with all organizational policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations and observe Ethical Standards and Confidentiality Standards at all times. This position will work collaboratively with members of the therapeutic treatment team, external agencies, military installations, clients and families, and members of other departments.  In coordination with the leadership team, this position ensures adherence to the military program structure and responds to patient/referral feedback to ensure quality treatment and customer service.

Job Requirements



  • Masters degree in mental health or substance abuse field.


  • One to two years of program coordination/management experience required
  • Four to five years of experience working with military populations impacted by mental health and/or substance use disorders
  • Inpatient or residential experience preferred.
  • Experience with utilization review / case coordination required


  • Licensed required by the Counseling or Social Work board in the state of Kentucky.  Independent license preferred.
  • HWC (Handle With Care) required.  This training also offered upon hire.

Other Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, strong organizational skills, and skills in writing and in working with statistical data. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, and the ability to delegate appropriately.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accrediting standards preferred.
