Poplar Springs Hospital, a 183 bed acute care and residential facility, is located in Petersburg, Virginia, 20 minutes south of Richmond and 50 minutes north of North Carolina. Situated on 25 acres, our serene, nature-like setting offers our patients a sense of calmness and peace. For more than 30 years Poplar Springs Hospital has been guided by its mission of helping those who need the full continuum of behavioral services. Our facility offers behavioral and psychological treatment for adults and adolescents through our acute programs, adolescent residential programs, sexually abusive youth services, as well as programs for active duty military.

The candidate selected will be responsible and accountable for:

  • Poplar Springs Hospital and its services at military installations and communities in designated areas of the United States.
  • He or she will be responsible for cultivating Military, VA, Veteran and Non-Military referral relationships in this designated area and generate facility referrals while minimizing competitive threats and customer dissatisfaction. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Public Relations/Business Administration/Counseling or a social services /business development related field required.
  • Previous experience in mental health field and/or marketing/sales preferred.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to make a positive impression on community professions, as 95% of day is spent working with and around others; ability to acquire a thorough knowledge of hospital staffing, programs, therapies, and milieu and be able to explain these to contacts; self-direction and initiative, as work is variable; a professional standard of appearance; ability to adapt to differing management styles; a team attitude and effort.
