The Mobile Assessment Clinician provides in person risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. The Mobile Clinician also assists the Physician by providing face to face clinical assessments, including the history of presenting illness, family dynamics and supporting psychosocial information

Job Requirements

Essential Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To:

  • Conducts screening and/or assessments in keeping with clinical knowledge, skill level, and department policies.
  • Facilitates clinically appropriate admissions to hospital services, congruent with needs and resources of caller.
  • Demonstrates sufficient understanding of services available in the community.
  • Interacts well with referral sources facilitates prompt communications in the best interest of the patient and the facility's operations.
  • Provides access to facility services based on admission criteria.
  • Communicates assessment recommendations to patients and families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of programs and/or unit services, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills organizes work so that critical assignments may be completed promptly, accurately, and thoroughly.
  • Responds to request for mobile within 15 minutes and presents to location within one hour.
  • Appropriately logs and submits completed assessments in a timely manner.
  • Documentation on Intake Call Sheets is complete and correct in all areas.
  • Documentation on Intake Assessment is complete and correct in all areas.
  • Documentation on Consent forms is complete and correct in all areas.
  • Accurately completes documentation at mobile location to clearly communicate recommendation.

 

Education

  • Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work and maintain a Missouri license, or licensed RN

Experience

  • Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.

  • Three years experience and knowledge in the area of mental health.

Other Skills

  • Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
