Universal Community Behavioral Health (UCBH) Inc., services began in 1999 and since that time, we have served communities by offering professional counseling, psychiatric services, crisis intervention, and case management services.   Our Crisis Intervention Services collaborate with mental health professionals and community partners to achieve a positive outcome for the person in crisis.  Our services advocate for a positive resolution and assist all individuals through the crisis event.

We are seeking a Mobile Crisis Coordinator to join our Clearfield/Jefferson County Crisis Intervention Services program.  This is a full-time, salaried, exempt level position. 

Responsibilities include:

Under the supervision of the Director of Crisis Intervention Services, the Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of crisis counselors; management and administration of crisis intervention services telephone, mobile and walk-in; management and administration of emergency services; maintain and promote collaborative relationships with mental health providers, provide community outreach and contract/fiscal management.

Job Requirements
  • Mobile Crisis Coordinator must meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by the Department of Public Welfare Crisis Intervention Regulations dated March 6, 1993. 
  • If not satisfying the State definition of mental Health Professional- a Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, rehabilitation, education or related field with three (3) years mental health direct care experience; or certified in psychology or psychiatry; or be a licensed registered nurse.
  • If not possessing a Master's Degree, then must possess a Bachelor's Degree in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, counseling, education ore related field and five (5) years of mental health direct care experience, two (2) of which shall  include supervisory experience.
  • This position requires a thorough understanding of levels of care criteria for mental health and substance abuse, Mental Health Procedures Act, Child & Elder abuse reporting, community and self-help resources and crisis intervention skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate and work in a positive manner with personnel, consumers, families and the public is required.
  • Act 33 and 34 Clearance is required.
  • Travel is required 50% of time.
