Valley Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented as needed (PRN) Music Art and Recreation Therapist to join our team!

Valley Hospital is built on three core principles, outstanding care, compassionate people and unparalleled service. We are a private 122 bed psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health care and chemical dependency counseling services.

Valley Hospital is centrally located with easy access to many areas of greater Phoenix. We are between North 35th and 36th Streets with East Earl to our north and East Thomas to our south

The Music, Art & Recreation Therapies (MART) Department Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing discipline specific therapeutic services for assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

 

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Music, or Recreation Therapy, or related therapeutic discipline; or a Master’s degree in Art Therapy or Occupational Therapy

 

Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

 

Licensure: Certification or licensure by state and/or national governing body in of the following areas: art,

recreation, or music therapy, or the ability and qualifications to obtain licensure or certification within the first 6 months of employment.

 

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification prior to employment and successful completion of Preventative Management Aggressive Behavior Training (SAMA) prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 90 days of employment. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
