SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Cox Media Group Florida has an immediate opening for a National Promotions Manager who will be responsible for all assisting the Director of National Sales with all promotional projects, with primary responsibilities for Jacksonville and Tampa.  The National Promotions Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing national sales promotions for national clients and providing support for the Director of National Sales.  Responsibilities will include working with Katz national reps on client requests, preparing promotional proposals and presentations, fostering client relationships, creating creative promotional ideas and opportunities, working with internal promotions coordinators and marketing directors to ensure flawless promotional execution on behalf of national clients, and producing up to date and detailed promotional recaps for clients.  

The National Promotions Manager will report to the Director of National Sales for CMG Radio.


PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning, co-ordination and execution of national sales promotions for Jacksonville and Tampa markets.
  • Responding to buyers and KRG reps for promotional avails, added value promotional requests and remote and appearance packages
  • Creating, planning and pricing/valuing promotions and added value promotional requests as well as remote and appearance packages
  • Work with promotions coordinators and marketing directors for each market to produce creative and detailed promotional ideas and proposals for national clients within deadlines.
  • Research endorsement availability with on air staff and program directors; Prepare endorsement paperwork for avails – if necessary submit the endorsement avails working with the Regional NSM for pricing.
  • Prepare appropriate internal paperwork to ensure flawless execution of promotions.
  • Prepare recaps for clients at the culmination of each promotion or as desired by client.
  • Assist in developing and executing good strategy for national client relations including keeping up to date client contact list for the region, assisting in formal correspondence and client appreciation.
  • Keep current files of station information for all markets for national sales presentations
  • Maintain up-to-date pending business file for all advertising handled by the NSM’s including political.
  • Keep up-to-date contact list for client promotions and events.
  • Provide clients with answers to questions regarding promotional support
  • Foster positive relationships with internal departments, clients and the national rep firms and be able to offer back-up support when Regional NSMs are traveling
  • Handle Production orders for CMG Jacksonville national orders
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information (professional and personal) obtained by you through your position
  • Other responsibilities as needed and determined by Regional NSMs

SECONDARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide backup for National Client Services Managers when needed.
  • Interface with the General Sales Managers and traffic directors to work through clearance issues.   Will work with KRG reps and buyers for approvals, calculate grps as well as providing paperwork and documentation for reps, buyers and traffic for the make goods.  
  • Work with National Client Services Manager in opposite region to share information and best practices as well as backup during vacation and when otherwise needed.
  • Assist in developing and executing good strategy for national client relations including keeping up to date client contact list for the region, assisting in formal correspondence and client appreciation.
  • Keep current files of station information for all markets in the region for national sales presentations
  • Provide clients with answers to questions regarding spot times, invoices, competitive spending and promotional support. 
  • Maintain up-to-date pending business file for all advertising handled by the NSM including political.
  • Maintain client records, proposals/ pending avails through filing, retrieval, retention, storage, compilation and updating on a consistent basis.

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Background in marketing and or experience working with events and promotions is a plus
  • Promotional and administrative experience; radio experience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality essential.
  • Proficiency in Wide Orbit, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to compose correspondence as necessary. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to relate professionally with all levels of management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and organization skills, with attention to detail accuracy and follow-up
  • Able to work as part of a group, and with all levels of department personnel with tact and discretion
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

 

EDUCATION:

 

  • Two years of college or two years equivalent experience in radio in sales, promotions or National Sales department preferred.
