The Network Contract Support Specialist manages network participation agreements with physician medical practices and health systems that yield a geographically competitive, product-based, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management, and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners. The
Network Contract Support Specialist evaluates contracts, analytic reports and other data to ensure contract obligations are met and data integrity related to the network is accurately maintained across all business platforms, reporting and extracting data for various reports and analyses. May be responsible for representing the provider network area on reporting and tracking provider complaints, or for the support, coordination, and production of the paper directory cycles. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining strong relationships with business units across the enterprise, working with contract managers assist with data/reporting requirements, engaging in process improvement initiatives to improve workflow efficiency, and ensuring the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate management of contract inventory across a team of contract managers, including ensuring contract obligations are met and provider contract data is maintained
  • Serve as internal point of contact for contract-related questions
  • Supports data requests for multiple projects related to physician contract remediation or migrations of business systems, streamlining and improving the consolidation or collection of data
  • Manage multiple projects related to physician contract remediation and other contracting initiatives
  • Coordinate with internal matrix partners to support contract / relationship management
  • Become a data SME that can assist with various data requests / pulls / manipulation
  • Pull and organize data correctly to answer specific business questions
  • Research multiple databases to pull in the correct or needed information
  • Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
  • Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Solve moderately complex problems and / or conduct moderately complex analyses
  • Work with minimal guidance; seek guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Translate concepts into practice
  • Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience in a network management-related role, such as contracting, provider relations or other relevant work experience in healthcare related role
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel (sorting & filtering data), Outlook (send email), Word (create and edit documents), and PowerPoint (create presentations)
  • Ability to work 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, or 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing financial models and analysis
  • Experience using Microsoft Access databases (queries and reports)
  • Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies, including Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS) and value-based incentive models
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and systems with training
  • Problem solving and analytical skills; the ability to systematically analyze data and draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action
  • Ability to multi-task, shifting back and forth effectively between two or more activities or sources of information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information from others
  • Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others
  • Strong customer service skills – ability to handle difficult conversations and communicate information effectively
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail
