Job Description

Position Purpose and Primary Accountabilities

  • Lead process development projects for Dairy TcoE technologies (assessment and substantiation phases) with external partners following accepted D&A tools, templates and project documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and bench development for dairy technology development initiatives leveraging experimental designs and scientific principles in recommendations and decisions.
  • Demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge and advanced problem solving skills in the areas of dairy technology process and ingredient solution development and application in process.
  • Ensure completion of development and commercialization success criteria in execution of project work through use of accepted documentation and work processes (D&A/ TSG crossover/ technology transfer).
  • Capture and disseminate project results and insights that create the foundation for innovative solutions in supporting business and R&D partners.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships across R&D and non R&D functions as necessary to support technology development.
  • Develop proof of principle protocepts that meet the project deliverables, and/or contribute to the creation and execution of a stronger global nutrition strategy.

Qualifications/Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • B.S. or M.S. with 5-7 years experience in a development or process role in a consumer products company or applied research arena with a proven track record in product or
  • process development
  • Ability to provide thought leadership on both strategic and tactical aspects of projects.
  • Outstanding teamwork, communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze and communicate implications of emerging consumer and process trends.
  • Proven track record in maintaining good working relationship with business partners (Marketing,
  • Operations, etc.).
  • Lead and influence project teams of 3 or more people with successful creation or commercialization of
  • Products/ protocepts.
  • Demonstrated expertise to develop, plan, conduct and coordinate prototype development initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of experimental design.
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong dairy and/or nutrition technology background
  • Strong technical knowledge of fermentation processes would also be an advantage.


Desired experience/ qualifications;
  • Ph.D.
  • Being able to deal with ambiguity and turn into technical deliverables.
  • Working within internal PepsiCo and external partner matrices.
  • Focussed on process but with a solutions approach to addressing obstacles.
  • Can-do attitude to delivering output using a matrix model and POM.
Capable of being able to manage upwards as required
