Job Description

Full-Time Registered Nurses for Baylor positions needed. We are offering: A 36/hr. work week; Full benefits and a sign-on bonus of $5000. Our current openings are: Day shift position 8:30 am to 9:00 pm. The Behavioral Health RN manages the nursing care of patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include: Performs initial and on-going Nursing Services and Health Assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice; Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs; Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient; Evaluates patient's response to interventions and revises nursing plan of care as needed; Collaborates with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status; Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Job Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; Prefer one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse but not required. Possesses current RN's license in state of practice; demonstrates sound leadership skills and utilizes these skills in organizing and delegating the activities and schedules for medical and/or non-medical tasks of the child and adolescent. RN prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team’s plan of care. RN has a record of consistent high quality clinical and interpersonal skills, possesses critical thinking skills and sound independent decision-making  in the execution of nursing strategies, provision of care as ordered, and able to effective evaluate the patient’s progress in meeting the goals of the treatment plan. The RN serves as an exemplary role model for others. The RN performs comprehensive nursing assessments, establishes nursing diagnosis and goals, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care provided. Demonstrates specialized knowledge of treatment procedures and interventions common to acute psychotic, as well as, non-violent crises intervention practice. RN is able to maintain a record of consistent high quality clinical and interpersonal skills to serve as a role model for others. RN has skills in establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with a variety of clinical and support team members. Possesses knowledge of abnormal psychology as typically found in the child and adolescent psychiatric populations in the application of the nursing care. Displays empathy for patients and their families and provides advocacy for the patient. RN is knowledgeable of medical terminology, especially those terms associated with child and adolescent behavioral issues. RN has a thorough understanding of psychopharmacology and the use of psychotropic medications to treat the symptoms and management of the patient’s psychiatric and medical needs. Provides individualized Plan of Care based on the needs of the patient. RN possesses problem-solving skills; organizational and time management; crisis intervention skills; written and oral communication skills; and skills in maintaining highly confidential information.  RN is skilled in facilitating and/or co-facilitating process orientation and didactic groups. RN maintains a current CPR certification and documented training in the Mindset curriculum and is flexible regarding hours and work schedule.  In the absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts and develop these skills within reasonable time frame via the organization’s orientation and training program.
