External/Internal Postings Nurse Manager The purpose of the Nurse Manager is to provide oversight and direction to nurses and mental health technicians and to work in collaboration with Nursing Services, Social Services and Special Services to develop and deliver effective programming on the unit in support of a therapeutic milieu.The Nurse Manager provides staff supervision, ensures compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory standards, performs audits and various administrative duties, collaborates internally and externally to build proficiency of staff and programming, engages in recruiting and retention opportunities and ensures fiscal responsibility for the Nursing Department The Nurse Manager is the champion of trauma informed care and ensures that nurses and mental health technicians utilize appropriate de-escalation techniques to maintain a milieu that is therapeutic and not re-traumatizing.Without a clear philosophy regarding restraint and seclusion modeled for nursing staff, treatment efforts are retarded and progress for patients may falter. The Nurse Manager is necessary to the success of Willow Springs Center to set and hold nurses and MHTs accountable to carry out the philosophy on restraint and seclusion and adherence to policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
