Responsible for performing functions required in the daily operation of the Treatment Room and assists with x-rays and EKGs for the hospital, manages the Employee Health Services, assists patient treatment, serves as smoking cessation educator and counselor. Hospital internist in performing medical evaluations and consultations for patients from the ages 5-65+ that is congruent with the philosophy and standards of practice defined by the medical department.


Knowledge of hospital functions, principles, theories and practices related to patient


Ability to perform Hx and Physical, EKG, phlebotomy, etc.

Demonstrated clinical skills in area of specialization (Fed, OB/ GYN, Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease)

Computers skills, micro soft word

Knowledge of effective and efficient principles and practices of interpersonal relationships.

Competent in oral and written English.


Performing physical exams for all new admissions and identify medical condition diagnosis and treatment

Perform technical duties as assigned and submits Patient Charge Forms, as appropriate, to the Billing Office.

Assist with Quality Assurance and Infection Control Functions

Perform daily checks on sterile items to ensure mat no items in the treatment rooms are outdated. Monitors and restocks all Treatment Rooms, EKG and x-ray supplies and materials, as necessary. Assures and documents ongoing.

Manages all aspects of the Employee Health Service. Schedule employee health exams, performs pre- employment and annual physical exams under the supervision of the Director if Internal Medical Services, provides follow-up needed for maintaining updated employee health records, and consults with the Director of Human Resources on the completion of all health requirements.

Perform computer data entry regarding patients and employees info as needed.

Conducts weekly checks of emergency bags and ensures proper operation all oxygen tanks and other emergency equipment on the nursing units.

Assist, where necessary, the laboratory representative / phlebotomist in the efficient operation of the hospital laboratory services.

Schedules x-ray with the technician and acts as liaison between nursing units and technician orders all EKG supplies. Assist physicians as requested in EKG interpretation.

Completion of physical examination and medical consultations and performs those examinations and consultations under the direction and supervision of the Director of Internal Medical Services.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



Current licensure in District of Columbia as a nurse practitioner;  participates in on-going education for CEU’s in accordance with American Medical Association (AMA)


Minimum of five (5) years experience in Internal Medicine with clinical experience in Ped’s, OB/GYN, and Infectious Disease.
