Job Description

Position Summary

Provides psychopharmacologic treatment of clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs routine and emergent comprehensive clinical/psychiatric evaluations and psychopharmacologic treatment of patients at admission and ongoing, completing documentation of all evaluations and treatment visits on the day of the session and according to FRN documentation requirements.

Participates in treatment planning team meetings and after-care planning.

Ensures timely meetings with clients and attendant timely documentation of related notes.

Ensures delivery of emergency medical care with the patient’s attending physician is unavailable.

Monitors lab levels and specialty tests.

Practices according to industry standards for psychopharmacologic treatment.

Communicates with Medical Director and treatment team regarding status and treatment of patients.

Actively participates in regular supervision sessions with Medical Director.

Provides input into clinical staffing.

Performs all other duties as required or assigned.


Job Requirements


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to inspire client confidence in the FRN Staff and the FRN Model of Treatment.
Ability to consistently demonstrate through conduct and communications the stability required to effectively assist patients and their family members through the FRN Model of Treatment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Must have high level of interpersonal skills. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, professionalism, tact and diplomacy.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of addiction, MI, and related issues.

Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and continuing care for dually diagnosed populations.

Understanding of diagnostic criteria for dual conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and placement criteria within the continuum of care.

Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.

Exhibits excellent customer relation skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, residents, visitors, families and referral sources.

Education and Experience

Licensed Nurse Practitioner to practice in State of Georgia under the supervision of a qualified psychiatrist.

Must have expertise and experience treating patients with mental illness and substance dependency conditions.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to be physically mobile; however, long periods of sitting will be required.

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Constant use of computer requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.

Ability to read, write and analyze detailed and complex information.
