Being a three-time Joint Commission Top Performer, Riveredge Hopital has a Full-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position available with our Inpatient and Outpatient Services.

 

Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will diagnose , treat, evaluate and manage acute and chronic Psychiatric patients in strict compliance with hospital policy and procedure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:·Diagnose, treat, evaluate and manage acute and chronic Psychiatric patients. Coordinate patient care through a continuum and facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to quality of care. Serve as a liaison and advocate for patients by assisting in coordinating continuing care for those with acute and chronic psychiatric problems. Collaborates with families, case managers, nursing, discharge planning and multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate utilization of health care resources. Educates patients and family members about the illness/condition, medication, and available resources; Administers and prescribes medications; Provides patient counseling.

 

 

Job Requirements

Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the state of Illinois. 1-2 years of inpatient/outpatient behavioral healthcare experience strongly preferred.
