FRN is currently seeking a Nursing Supervisor/Medical Support Supervisor, to supervise Medical Assistants, providing and monitor scheduling of Medical providers, monitor and track provider certification (CPR, license, liability insurance) for compliance.  Monitor and track documentation to ensure quality and timeliness.  Tracking Buprenorphine per provider per state regulations.  Assist with provider billing.  Attend medical provider meetings, training new nursing department staff. Facilitating groups.  Supports Nursing Supervisors at all centers.  Other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have the ability to inspire our clients’ confidence in our staff and the FRN Model of Treatment, by exhibiting high levels of both knowledge and compassion.

Job Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in coordinating medical provider scheduling
  • Assists with coordinating Tele-psychiatry scheduling and filling doctors’ orders
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supervises and evaluates the performance of Medical Assistants and/or nurses as needed
  • Communicates with consulting medical providers to coordinate care with appropriate medical care as necessary and documents all referrals
  • Assures medical provider licenses and certification comply with laws, regulation, and professional standards of practice, and tracks the renewal of TB, CPR, CAQH, DEA and other certifications as required by law or by company policy.
  • Approves and audits medical record documentation methods for nursing and medical care.
  • Provides patient education regarding medications
  • Facilitates Psycho-Educational Groups
  • Supports nursing teams at all centers in any and all functions as needed
  • Meets quality, quantity and timeliness of expectations of accuracy, completeness, volume consistent with peers and relative to time in position, completing work as scheduled, demonstrating self-paced performance and adjusting priorities as needed and is responsive to feedback.
  • Provides new hire staff training regarding policies and procedures.
  • Scheduling employee evaluations, audits and chart reviews, staff meetings, and participates with other supervisors in various departments to improve consumer care, pass downs and crisis management.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to inspire client confidence in the FRN Staff and the FRN Model of Treatment.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate through conduct and communications the stability required to effectively assist patients and their family members through the FRN Model of Treatment.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Must have general knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in work processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Work, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must have general knowledge of ASAM Criteria and ICD-10 coding
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and the ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the organization.
  • Demonstrates a broad base of knowledge in psychiatric and addiction treatment and administration
  • Must be able to successfully work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Ability to train and develop staff competence in the FRN System of Care (SOC) Treatment.
  • Provide leadership and team building skills-sets as needed
  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing provider schedules, supervision systems, HR staffing guidelines, payroll and training.
  • Proficiency implementing and measuring quality of departmental guidelines, including outcomes, updates and development of new guidelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of State licensure and CARF requirements

 

Education/Experience

  • Education: College, Bachelors preferred
  • Licensure: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), LPT or Registered Nurse (RN) required
  • Licensed or certified as a chemical dependency counselor, or registered to become licensed or certified, within 90 days of hire
  • Experience: 5+ years working within a medical facility preferred , preferably alcohol and drug treatment/mental health or 3 years working within Foundations Recovery Network
  • Leadership/management/supervisory experience: 3 years preferred
  • General knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in work processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Position requires work on the computer requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
  • Due to the 24/7 operational demands, must be available after normal working hours and on holidays to manage emergencies that may rise.
