Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides safe, competent patient-centered care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. The certified nursing assistant provides care under the direction of the registered nurse or physician. Participates as an active member of the Nursing Team on the assigned unit/department. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

Category III:   Not exposed to blood-borne or potentially infectious material.                       _____

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Prefer experience in an acute care setting.

 

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

  1. High School diploma or GED required.        
  2. Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
  3. Must possess one of the following:

•           CNA certificate

•           EMT certificate

•           Medical Assistant certificate

•           Current enrollment in an LVN, ADN or BSN accredited school of nursing with completion of  

            fundamentals.

  1. BLS (or obtained during orientation)
  2. De-escalation class within first year of hire as required by site based on specialty unit and job function

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS CATEGORY:

 

Physical Ability 1:                 _____

This employee will perform administrative work, i.e., sit at desk to work.  Employees in this category should be capable of very light labor.

 

Physical Ability 2:                 ______

This employee will perform clerical and/or physical work; i.e., clerks and first line supervisors.  Work is fairly active, but a portion of the time is spent at a desk or bench.  Involves occasional light lifting (15 lbs.), considerable walking, some bending, stooping and squatting.  Employees in this category should be capable of light labor.
