Job Description

 

A professional nurse who has administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for the overall coordination of nursing services during his/her shift.  Supervises/coordinates service provided during admissions to provide optimal utilization of human and environmental resources. 

Provides leadership to nursing staff in the nursing care delivery system in order to ensure accordance with Arbour-Fuller Hospital's philosophy and established nursing standards of practice of care and policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Education:

Diploma in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.

 

Experience:

Four years related experience; CPR Certified; Massachusetts registered nurse license with current registration required

Ability to communicate effectively through spoken word and in writing.

Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to interact compassionately and appropriately with families of the mentally ill.

The supervising nurse must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provided care appropriate to the age of the patients served throughout the hospital.  The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the hospital's policies and procedures. 

Reports to the Director of Nursing or designee.  Interacts with patients, patients' families, outside vendors, insurance companies and all internal departments.
